Research area: condensed matter theory (응집물질물리학, 이론)

Condensed matter physicists explore unexpected phenomena that occur when large numbers of constituents interact with one another. The constituents of condensed matter are composed of electrons and ions, with which the physical properties are represented. Condensed matter theorists try to understand those phenomena from simple principles of quantum mechanics, statistical mechanics, and electromagnetism. Condensed matter theory provides insights in our understanding of materials and the physical world. Currently, my research interests are:

-Electronic structure of nanostructures, surfaces, and interfaces
-Modeling transport properties of thermoelectric materials
-Thermal conductivity from molecular dynamics
